Karolina Rudnicka: Distinctive Writing Styles of AI Chatbots

In July 2025, Karolina Rudnicka published a feature article in Scientific American (published by Springer Nature), the oldest continuously running magazine in the United States. The article explores how different large language models (LLMs) appear to develop their own distinct 'idiolects' - stylistic patterns comparable to individual language use in humans.

The article has attracted considerable public attention, being referenced by journalists, researchers, and science enthusiasts internationally. It has been featured or cited by major outlets in several countries, for example:

Martin Schweinberger & Kate Burridge: Vulgarity in Online Discourse Around the English-Speaking World

A Lingua paper on Vulgarity in online discourse around the English-speaking world by Martin Schweinberger (ISLE Vice-President Profession) and Kate Burridge (ISLE Prize and Nomination Committee) has sparked substantial public interest with appearances in the national news in Australia, live radio interviews across Australia (e.g., on ABC Radio Hobart, from minute 4:15 to 18:50), and even a The Guardian article about the study.
