This prize seeks to recognize and celebrate innovative teaching projects, resources, or initiatives that advance the teaching of English linguistics and language studies.
Recipients
Congratulations to the first winner of the ISLE Teaching Innovation Prize: Julia Schlüter from the University of Bamberg! Learn more about her winning project "Empowering Non-Native English Language Professionals" here.
Elen Le Foll (University of Cologne) received an honorable mention for her project "Data Analysis for the Language Sciences: A Very Gentle Introduction to Statistics and Data Visualisation in R".
Eligibility
The prize is open to ISLE members*
*The following individuals are not eligible to apply: (a) Non-ISLE members; (b) ISLE Board members; (c) Previous winners (within the same category, for a period of four years).
Deadline
All submissions must be received by April 30, 2025
All submissions should be combined into a single document and sent to vp-teaching@isle-linguistics.org
What Can You Submit?
- Descriptions of teaching-related projects
- Innovative teaching resources
- Other initiatives that demonstrate excellence in teaching English linguistics
What Do Prize Winners Receive?
- A cash prize of 500 EUR
- A dedicated section on the ISLE website to showcase their project
- An announcement and recognition during the next ISLE conference
- An invitation to present in the ISLE online forum
Submission Requirements
Submissions must include the following:
- A Conflict-of-Interest Statement (one paragraph)
- A Project Description (1–3 pages, 12-point font size, 1.5 line spacing)
The winner(s) will be announced at the next ISLE conference.
